The Institute and its Members
Founded in 1953 as a meeting point for packaging makers and users, the Institute today counts among its more than 300 members a number of major manufacturers, the leading industrial users groups, packaging machinery makers, industrial designers, and trade associations.
Providing assistance to the member base, Information, Training, and Promoting innovation in the sector are the Institute’s main activities.
In order to provide members ever better and more timely assistance, the Institute has set up four “Information Desks”: Law, Marketing, Engineering and Environment. Here, qualified experts will respond to queries and assist members in solving company problems.
There are also frequent opportunities to meet and debate. These events are reserved for members and organised through “Permanent Commissions” and “Working Groups” that deal with specific issues and the new “information Areas”, which have been set up to monitor and debate the latest technical and commercial developments.
With its training program, publications, and university degree in Packaging Technology, the Institute is able to focus on improving a variety of new professional skills.
The Institute’s famous “Packaging Oscars” ceremonies, as well as its working relationships with a number of technical and trade publications, and its attendance at all the major European trade shows, are all part of its widespread promotional activities.
